External Release Notes: Migration App 3.46.1 (March 05, 2025)

New Features And Enhancements

Change Priority For Jobs In Queue (Limited Availability)

Egnyte provides migration job queueing when the limit for the concurrent jobs is reached. Additionally, customers can now change the priority of the jobs in the queue.

By default, priority follows a First-In, First-Out system, processing the earliest scheduled job first.

The feature can be enabled on request. Please contact Support to get the feature enabled.

Validation Reports (Limited Availability)

The users can now easily view the discrepancies between the source and destination by generating the validation reports for migration jobs.  Validation reports are available with the following details:

  • The files which are missing from destination but present on source
  • The files which have different checksum or hash on source and destination
  • The files which are different in size on destination and source

The report can only be created when the data is already present in the destination, that is, Egnyte.

The feature can be enabled on request. Please contact Support to get the feature enabled.

Change In Migration Job Report Name Format

Previously, the migration job report name included only the migration Job ID. The format has now been updated to also include the source and destination leaf folders.

The report name has changed from ‘migration_report_mirgationId.xls’ to  ‘migration_report_sourcefolder_destinationfolder_migrationId.xls’

Issues Addressed

Issues in Permissions Migration

There were errors in inheriting and migrating permissions for certain subfolders from their respective parent folders during the migration process.

CMM Agent Upgrade/Downgrade Issue

Previously, upgrading the CMM agent resulted in the deletion of the installation directory (C:\Program Files\Egnyte CMM Agent). Now, the directory remains intact, and the CMM service is properly stopped during the upgrade process.
