External Release Notes: Desktop App for Windows v 3.22.1 (February 4, 2025)
Issues Addressed
Improved Version History For .DWG Files In BricsCAD
Version history was not maintained for .dwg files in BricsCAD due to the software’s save process. Versioning is now properly retained and .bak files are excluded from cloud uploads.
Improved Chrome Download Handling In Restricted Permission Folders
Users faced permission errors when downloading files from certain websites to Egnyte folders with read-write access. Chrome can now save temporary files properly, ensuring smooth downloads without errors.
‘File In Use’ Error When Co-Editing
Resolved an issue where users saw a File In Use pop-up in Microsoft Office when opening a file for co-editing, even when no one else was editing it. This fix ensures the file is automatically unlocked if the Desktop App holds the lock before starting co-edit mode.
Delay In File Syncing On Offline Sync
An issue caused delays in syncing files to local machines when using offline sync. Even after a file was updated and unlocked on the cloud, some users continued to open an outdated version on their local device.
Lock Files Not Deleting For Terramodel And AutoCAD
Temporary lock files created by Terramodel and AutoCAD applications were not being deleted when saving files to the Desktop App drive, requiring manual deletion to continue working.
Error When Using Offline Folders With Astrill VPN
Users running Astrill VPN encountered an error when using offline folders, preventing folder synchronization.
Access Denied Error When Saving Mathcad Files
Resolved an issue where saving Mathcad files caused an access denied error due to unexpected file restoration. Special handling for .xmcd files now ensures proper versioning and prevents conflicts.
Issue Causing Excessive Conflict Copies
Under specific conditions, an issue caused files to be assigned an incorrect version number on the local machine. This led to repeated conflict copies being created upon upload, as the server did not recognize the version and assumed an edit conflict.
Temporary Files Consuming Excess Disk Space
The Desktop App was generating temporary files (_share.xxxxxxxxxx.thread_0000) during chunk upload or download for offline folders. In some cases, due to connection failures and antivirus interference, these files were not deleted properly, leading to excessive disk space consumption.
