Secure & Govern dashboard in Egnyte provides users with a clear and organized view of their sensitive content and associated risks.
It includes real-time information tiles such as open issues, sensitive content locations, high-risk locations, and the most sensitive locations by policy, displaying counts and percentage changes from the last seven days. Additional widgets on the dashboard help users monitor overall risk, with a risk score and graphical trends over time, as well as track open issues using customizable timelines. The dashboard also breaks down sensitive content by source and policy using visual tools like pie charts and bar graphs.
With up-to-date content classification and detailed breakdowns, along with coverage metrics for sources, folders, and file sizes, this dashboard helps users effectively monitor and manage their sensitive data.
Real-time Insights
The tiles at the top of the dashboard provide near real-time insights, enabling Secure and Govern users to track the latest counts and recent changes.

Open Issues: The number of open issues is displayed along with the percentage change in the count over the last 7 days. The user can click on the tile to be redirected to the Issues page with the Issue Status filter set to Open.

Sensitive Content Locations: The number of sensitive content across all locations is displayed along with the percentage change in the count over the last 7 days. Upon clicking, the user is redirected to the Sensitive Content page with the Unpermitted Content filter set to No.

Sensitive locations by high risk (7-9): The tile displays the count of sensitive locations by high risk (7-9) and the percentage change in the last 7 days. Users can click to be redirected to the Sensitive Content page with the Unpermitted Content filter to No and Risk set to 7-9.

Top sensitive location by Policy: The number of sensitive locations by a specific policy is displayed along with the percentage change in the count over the last 7 days. Upon clicking, the user is redirected to the Sensitive Content page with the Unpermitted Content filter set to No and Policies set to the configured policy.
On hovering over any of the tiles, associated details such as the count and percentage change over the last 7 days appear.
Risk Score
The widget gives graphical representation of the risk score from low to critical risk calculated based on the number of issues, sensitive content, and amount of data under governance.
The current risk range is also displayed as Low, Moderate, High, Very high, or Critical.
Additionally, the widget also includes a bar graph showing the distribution of risky content over the current and last three months, helping users track trends. The dropdown on the top-right provides the users the ability to fix risk content by navigating to:
- Open issues with high sensitivity
- Older open issues
- Older unpermitted sensitive content locations
Open Issues
The widget gives a graphical representation of the open issues in the selected timeframe. Users can adjust the timeframe using the dropdown menu, which offers options such as the last 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, or 12 months.
The users can also navigate to view and take actions on the open issues by clicking on the Review all issues button.
Sensitive Content Locations by Source or Risk
Sensitive Content Locations by Source or Risk widget provides a donut chart that visualizes the distribution of sensitive content across various sources or risks.
The user can hover over on any of the slices and click to view the associated locations.
Sensitive Content Locations by Policy
The widget displays a horizontal bar chart that categorizes sensitive content based on predefined policies, such as PP, MPIPA, COCP, SADD, and CCPA. Each bar is segmented by risk level—High (red), Medium (yellow), and Low (blue)—allowing users to identify the volume and risk distribution of sensitive content locations across different policies.
The user can hover over on any of the horizontal bars and click to view the associated locations. Additionally, the users can filter the graph to select specific source(s) to view the details accordingly.
Content Classification up to date
The number of files classified up to date is displayed and the user can click on ‘How classification works?’ link to learn more about Content Classification in Egnyte.
The can also click on Detailed Breakdown to view the Content Classification details.
Secure & Govern Coverage
The Secure & Govern Coverage widget provides a quick summary of the total number of sources, folders, files, file size, users, and groups being monitored, giving users an overview of their content governance.
