Legal Holds Reports facilitate the tracking and management of files under legal hold, ensuring preservation of critical data for compliance and legal processes.The Legal Hold report only contains information about failed file migrations. In the case of Legal Hold, migrations are only in two different cases:
- The Legal Hold includes a Sharepoint/OneDrive source.
- A user selected Download options -> Access shared file location.

Create a New Report
- Navigate to Secure & Govern -> Reports -> Audit -> Legal Holds and Click on New Report.
- Enter the details to create a new report
- Report name: Provide a name for the report being created

Legal holds: Choose All legal holds (default) or select the specific legal holds

Date range: Select the date range from the drop down. Last 30 days is the default selection
- Click on the Create button.
- The newly created report is displayed under Reports -> Audit -> Legal Holds in the pending state. It takes a few seconds to generate the report.
Access a Report
- Navigate to Secure & Govern -> Reports -> Audit -> Legal Holds and click on a report to access it.
- The report opens with the following details:
- Date: Date and timeframe
- Name: Name of the file
- Action: Details of the action
- Legal hold policy: Name of the legal hold policy
- Content Source: Name of the content source
- Content Location: Location path of the content
- Target Domain: Name of the target domain
- Error: Error encountered, if any
Export a Report
The legal holds report can be exported to the user’s machine in a .xlsx format.
- Access a report and click on the Export icon at the top-right.
- Alternatively, navigate to Reports -> Audit -> Legal Holds. Click on the three dots -> Export.
Delete a Report
- Navigate to Reports -> Audit -> Legal Holds. Click on the three dots -> Delete.
- Click on Delete to confirm.
