Requirements
AI-Driven Document Summarization and Document Q&A is available to users who have version 8.66 (or higher) of the Egnyte Android App. The most up to date version of the Egnyte app is available in the Google Play Store.
Document Summarization
With AI Summarization, users don’t need to read an entire document to grasp the main points. Instead, the Ask feature will provide a clear and concise summary.
To generate a summary:
- Open a document (text or image file) in the Egnyte Android app. Tap the Ask option.
- Select Generate Summary prompt.
- The AI will provide a brief summary of the document’s key points.
This is particularly useful for reviewing long reports, articles, or reference materials on the go.

Document Q&A
With Document Q&A, users can interact directly with the documents:
- Type a question related to the document’s content.
- Receive direct answers extracted from the document.
- Use pre-configured prompts or AI-generated suggestions to quickly start a conversation with the document.
To use Document Q&A:
- Open a document in the Egnyte Android app. Tap the Ask option.
- Type a question in the input box or choose one of the suggestions to continue exploring.
- Read the AI-generated response.
This makes it easy to find specific information without scrolling through long documents.

General Chat features

Provide Feedback - After receiving the answer with the summary, users can give feedback on its usefulness using the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icons. If the response is not satisfactory, additional feedback can be provided on tapping the thumbs-down icon.

Copy the response to clipboard by tapping on the Copy icon.

Clear Chat: This allows the user to start the conversation all over again.
