External Release Notes: Desktop App for Win v3.16.0 (January 31, 2024)
New Features and Enhancements
Connected Folders to Shared Directory
We are happy to announce that with the new release, we allow to use Connected folders with any folder within the Shared directory using Graphical User Interface (GUI) rather than the Command-line Interface (CLI).
The flow is exactly the same as it was for folders within the Private directory, but folders within Shared are now available.
Support for Bentley Open Roads Designer
We have improved our support for Bentley Open Roads Designer software, so that it uploads files correctly even after extended inactivity time.
Improved Support for Blender
We have improved our support for the Blender application, so that .blender files keep version history properly.
Support for Directory Opus
We have added support for Directory Opus file manager so that Desktop App Context menu and Visual Indicators are available for it.
Issues Addressed
File Locking While Co-Editing
Fixed an issue where in some cases a file was locked when a co-editing session was being established.
Corrupted Database
In some rare situations, Desktop App database can get corrupted and requires to be reinstalled. When it happened, a generic instruction to contact support was provided. We have improved error handling so that it is clear that reinstalling the Desktop App can solve the issue.
Database corruption in this case means only the internal part of the application and does not affect any files or data on Egnyte drive.
