New Features and Enhancements

Document Creation

We are excited to introduce a powerful enhancement in the Egnyte Desktop App with this latest version. Now, creating documents has become more seamless and efficient than ever before, thanks to the new 'Document Creation' feature accessible through the right-click context menu. In order to create documents, the user must be connected to the Egnyte Drive. 

Key Highlights

  1. Intuitive Right-Click Access:

    • You can now easily create new documents directly from the Egnyte drive by right-clicking on the desired location.
    • The context menu offers a quick and convenient option to initiate document creation, reducing the need for multiple steps.
  2. Multiple Document Formats Supported:

    • Enjoy flexibility in document creation with support for various formats, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • You can choose the document type that best suits your needs right from the New Document Dialog Box.
  3. Seamless Integration with Egnyte Drive:

    • Document creation seamlessly integrates with your Egnyte  drive, allowing you to create documents directly in the folders and locations you choose.
    • No need to open the application separately – simply right-click, create, and start working on your documents in no time.

Issues Addressed

Improved Offline Folders Stability

We have improved the stability of folders synced for offline access for some scenarios in which they were not updated immediately.

No new limitations have been discovered.

 The current release contains a few improvements to existing functionality.  

  • Minor performance, security and stability improvements  
  • Minor logging improvements
  • Minor bug fixes
