External Release Notes: Mobile iOS v8.26 (January 25, 2024)
New Features and Enhancements
Image Markups
This release adds a new and powerful feature on the Egnyte iOS app. Users can now add text, freehand writing, drawings, stickers, and more directly to images using Image Markups without leaving the application. The new feature is available for JPEG, PNG, and HEIC file extensions.

URL Files
Egnyte Mobile App now provides the ability to create URL files or links as files. The Create/Upload menu provides the option to create URL files.
Users can specify the link and provide a URL name. The link can be to a website, an internal document, or an internal URL.
On tapping on the Save button, a .url file is created with a link specified.
Once the link is clicked, it opens in the previewer where the users can see the link and click on Open to navigate to the URL.
Other file options like Share, Comments, Copy, Move, Rename, and Edit can be accessed from the context menu.
- While the flow allows the users to create links with http and https protocols only, users can click on existing link files that use other protocols (e.g. ftp) to get redirected to the URL.
- The ‘Workflow’ feature is not available for ‘Link’ files on the mobile app.
Visual Redesign of Folder Permissions
Version 8.26 brings a fresh and modern look to the Egnyte iOS application visually revamped to enhance user experience, namely the Folder Permissions feature.
We believe that these visual enhancements will elevate the overall app usage and provide a visually appealing interface for permissions management.
