External Release Notes: AI Assistant (June 17, 2026)
New Features and Enhancements
Building Code Analyst
Egnyte now offers an AI-driven Building Code Analyst specifically built for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) users.
The Building Code Analyst helps teams quickly identify and interpret relevant building code requirements across multiple jurisdictions through an easy-to-use conversational interface. By reducing the time spent searching, cross-referencing, and validating code information, it enables architects, engineers, and construction professionals to make more informed decisions, improve project efficiency, and stay focused on higher-value design and work planning.
The feature is available to the customers on the AEC Essentials, AEC Elite, or AEC Ultimate plans.
New Public API Endpoints
AI Assistant is now accessible via new public API endpoints, /pubapi/v1/ai/assistant/ask and /pubapi/v1/ai/assistant/{id}/status, replacing the legacy Copilot Ask endpoint.
The API operates asynchronously by allowing users to submit a question and poll the status endpoint for the results. The API also supports model selection and surfaces agent tool calls, bringing API responses in line with the experience in the Egnyte UI.
Existing ask_copilot will be deprecated by September 30, 2026. It will continue to function during the deprecation period, ensuring a smooth transition.
