Egnyte AI Help Assistant - Quick Access to Product Knowledge

Egnyte makes it easy to get answers to product questions without leaving the current workspace. AI Help Assistant is a dedicated virtual assistant that provides quick access to information from Egnyte Helpdesk directly within the product. Users can ask questions in natural language and receive responses along with links to relevant articles for additional information.

Help Assistant reduces the time spent searching for documentation and helps users quickly find step-by-step instructions, gain better understanding of the product features, and resolve common questions.

Egnyte uses closed models with no cross-training. Refer to the Egnyte Generative Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) Policy for more details. 

Access Help Assistant 

Login to the Egnyte domain and click on the Help icon in the sidebar to access Help Assistant.

Interact with Help Assistant 

  • Enter the query in the input box and press Enter or click on the Send icon.
  • Help Assistant will start looking for the response and users can view the progress.
  • The response will be provided by the Help Assistant along with the source(s) referenced at the end. Users can click on any of the source(s) to read through the respective Helpdesk article. They can continue interacting with the Help Assistant by clicking on any of the suggested questions or type in their query in the input box.

Copy Response

Click on the Copy icon below the response and it will be copied.

Feedback Options

Users can click on the Thumbs up or Thumbs down icons below the response to provide their feedback on the response generated. Enter additional feedback if the response is not adequate and click on Submit.

Conversation History 

  • Click on Conversation History icon to view and manage the conversation history.
  • Click on any of the historical records to view the conversation. Users can also click on the Delete icon to delete a specific conversation.
  • Click on Delete to confirm.

Conversations History is automatically deleted after some time. 

Ask a New Question

  • Click on the New chat icon to ask a new question.
  • The new chat will begin on Help Assistant and Ask a new question icon will be disabled at this point.

Help Assistant uses AI to generate answers and may display inaccurate info. Please read the full article referenced by the answers before taking actions.

Limitations

  • Users can ask questions in Help Assistant; however, it cannot be used to create a Support ticket.
  • A user can ask a maximum of 10 questions in an hour. If the limit is reached, a notification will be displayed and the send icon in the input box will be disabled. This limit is automatically reset after an hour and cannot be reset manually by Egnyte.
