Storage Sync V 13.16 - Miscellaneous Improvements

External Release Notes: Storage Sync v 13.16 (July 27, 2026)

Issues Addressed

Storage Sync Crash and Spurious Rescan During Upgrade and Service Restarts

Storage Sync was crashing, and ran a rescan sync after restart due to a memory related issue. It now handles software upgrades and service restarts more smoothly, so file shares stay available and sync resumes reliably once the restart completes. This delivers a more dependable experience during maintenance and update windows.

Rare File Deletion Issue in Storage Sync

Resolved an extremely rare condition where Storage Sync could incorrectly delete files due to internal state corruption, requiring a service restart to recover.

Improved Storage Sync Reliability During File Upload

Storage Sync could get stuck while uploading certain files, requiring a manual service restart to recover. Sync operations are now more stable and less likely to stall without intervention.

Issue Switching Authentication from AD to Egnyte

Switching a Storage Sync device from Active Directory to Egnyte authentication silently failed when the domain controller was offline or not reachable. The change is now applied and saved correctly without reverting, reducing administrative overhead and preventing unnecessary configuration failures.
