New Features and Enhancements
Enhanced Coediting with Microsoft SharePoint Embedded (SPE)
Egnyte is announcing the launch of the new Microsoft SharePoint Embedded (SPE) Coediting integration. This integration addresses key limitations of the previous Cloud Storage Partner Program (CSPP+) solution by introducing support for critical Microsoft features, ensuring essential functionality is maintained, and streamlining the administrator setup process.
The new integration introduces several important features to enhance the coediting workflow:
- @mentions: Directly notify collaborators within the documents that are being co-edited
- Sensitivity Labelling: Apply Microsoft Purview labels to classify and protect the data during coediting sessions
- Excel Sheet Linking: Maintain the critical functionality of linking different sheets within Excel while coediting
- Cross-Platform Coediting: Collaborate seamlessly in both Office Online and Office Desktop environments
- Admin Wizard: Administrators can easily set up the integration in Microsoft environments with a step-by-step guide that is designed to be user-friendly
- The SPE Coediting feature is accessible through Egnyte’s WebUI, Desktop App, and Mobile
- In order for the Microsoft Office Desktop and Online tile to appear, users must make sure both Microsoft Office Online tile and Microsoft Office Desktop and Mobile tile are set to Not enabled for domain
