External Release Notes: Storage Sync v 13.11 (December 1, 2025)
New Features and Enhancements
SMB File Descriptor Limit Configuration
Admins can now configure the SMB file descriptor limit directly from the System & Network Configuration page. This new setting, found under the SMB encryption field, allows selecting from 16384 (default), 32768, or 65536, enabling better performance tuning for workloads that require opening a large number of files simultaneously.
When increasing the limit, a confirmation prompt ensures deliberate changes, while a clear warning highlights potential increases in CPU and memory usage. This enhancement provides greater flexibility and control for environments running demanding applications such as Unreal Engine or large design and simulation tools.
Issues Addressed
UI Issue in SNMP Settings
The UI displayed a success message for SNMP settings even when the backend returned an error. The correct error message is now displayed.
SNMP Setup User Creation Issue Resolved
Enabling SNMP failed due to an incorrect configuration file path. SNMP setup and user creation now work correctly through the Storage Sync UI.
Improvements in FFS (Full File System sync) and FRS (Fast Rescan Sync)
Storage Sync now retries a failed FFS instead of triggering an FRS. It also locks sync folder settings until a deselection is fully processed, preventing misinterpretation of local states and unintended cloud data deletion.
Case-Sensitive Renames Now Synced Correctly Between Cloud and Storage Sync
Renaming a file or folder with only a case change in Egnyte Web UI was not reflected for Storage Sync users. Case-only renames now sync properly across cloud and desktop.
