Each analysis rule can be enabled or disabled individually on different sources, allowing flexibility in applying only the most relevant rules to a given context. Analysis rules are managed in two different locations depending on the rule type. These locations are Content Sources and User Directory.
Enabling Content Source Analysis Rules
Users can enable analysis rules on their sources by using the steps below:
- Navigate to the Settings → Content Sources page. Click on the source for which the analysis rules need to be configured.
- In the rules applied for analysis section, click on the drop-down to select the rules that should run on the source.
- By default, all rules are selected to run on the source except for the Individual Permissions rule.
- Users can also selectively choose the rules that should be run on the source.
- Each rule can also be configured to run on a select set of folders in the source. Click on the gear icon next to the rule to include or exclude folders from the rule’s analysis.
- After selecting the folders, click on Save. Click on Save again in the confirmation dialog box. It may take some time for the Issues tab to get updated to reflect these changes.
Enabling User Directory Analysis Rules
Users can enable analysis rules on their user directory by using the steps below:
- Navigate to the Settings → Content Sources page. Click on the user directory for which the analysis rules need to be configured.
- In the rules applied for the analysis section, click on the drop-down to select the rules that should run on the user directory.
- By default, all rules are selected to run on the user directory.
- Users can also selectively choose the rules that they want to be run on their user directory.
Disabling Analysis Rules
Users can disable analysis rules on their sources and user directory by using the steps below:
- Navigate to the Settings → Content Sources page. Click on the source for which the analysis rules need to be modified.
- In the rules applied for the analysis section, click on the drop-down to select the rules that should run on the source or user directory. By default, all rules are selected to run on the source and user directory (except Individual Permissions). To turn off all analysis rules, select No rules from the dropdown.
- To disable specific analysis rules, click on Selected rules in specified folders option and then switch off the rules that need to be disabled.
