New Features And Enhancements
AI-Assisted Document Upload
Egnyte now provides an option to specify document type while creating a new upload request template.
With the AI-assisted document classification feature, the system automatically detects the uploaded file type and informs the assigner whether the uploaded document(s) match the requested type. This reduces the manual effort by ensuring that only relevant documents are submitted, streamlining the review and approval process.
The Upload Request templates are restricted to the Document Portal Add-on only and not yet available for the GxP Plans.
Tags and Document Type Columns in Folder View
Tags and Document Type are two new columns that have been added as default columns in the Folder view. The Tags column indicates the total number of tags applied to a file, and Document Type specifies the type of document, such as an Employee Handbook.
Automated File System Action Steps in Workflows
Workflow template authors can now add Automated Action steps to their workflows to perform the following file system actions:
- Move file to a folder - Automatically relocate files to designated folders.
- Add metadata to a file - Apply specific metadata values as a part of workflow execution.
- Webhook Steps: Webhook Steps are now available as part of the Automated Action step.
These steps can be combined with the existing To Do, Review, and Approval steps in workflows.
Common Use Cases:
- Move an approved file to a folder with restricted permissions.
- Set a metadata value once a file has been reviewed/approved.
- Use Workflow Triggers to automate workflow creation along with these automated action steps.
