Egnyte provides customers with the ability to view on-demand migration details in the migration summary report.
This report offers a comprehensive summary of every migration run, including details on migration exclusions, errors, and sanitization. The users can also access a consolidated migration job report.
It enables users to track migration progress and troubleshoot any issues encountered during the process.
The cloud to Egnyte migration feature is currently under Limited Availability. To request this feature, contact our Products team.
Generate Migration Summary Report
- Navigate to Secure & Govern -> Settings -> Content Lifecycle.
- Scroll down to On-demand Archivals & Migrations Jobs. Click on the Migrations tab. Click on any of the jobs to view its details.
- Click on View reports to view and download the migration summary reports for each migration run. The users can also access the consolidated migration job report from this option.
- Click on the download icon for the respective migration run to download its summary report. Click on Download summary to download the consolidated migration job summary report. Users can sort the reports on the basis of Job completion date and status. Users can also filter the reports by Job completed timeframe and status.
Users can filter the reports based on the job completion timeframe in the last 7/15/30/60 days or set a custom date range. They can also choose to filter the reports based on migration job status as completed, completed with error, and/or failed.
The migration reports will be filtered as per the user’s selection.
- Click on the download icon for the respective migration run to download its summary report. Click on Download summary to download the consolidated migration job summary report. Users can sort the reports on the basis of Job completion date and status. Users can also filter the reports by Job completed timeframe and status.
- Users can also click on the option Download Migration Summary Report. The progress of the migration job is displayed with a breakdown of each of the steps involved. If there has been a single migration run, the migration job report will be downloaded. However, if there have been multiple runs, the report for the latest migration run will be downloaded. The progress of the migration job is displayed with a breakdown of each of the steps involved.
- The migration summary report is exported to the user's machine, and a notification is provided upon completion.
Migration Summary Report - Details
The migration summary report comprises four tabs as Summary, Exclusions, Errors, and Sanitize.
Migration Summary
Summary is the first and the default tab that is displayed when the user opens the migration summary report.
The following details are included:
- Job name: Name of the migration job
- Migration ID: An auto-generated unique identifier for the migration job
- Job created by: Name of the migration job creator
- Domain Name: Name of the Egnyte domain
- Source: Path of the source folder selected. If there are multiple folders selected, the field displays ‘multiple source folders’
- Destination: Path of the destination folder selected for migration
- Size: Size of the files included for migration
- File count: Number of files selected for migration
- Aggregated Duration: Aggregated duration since the migration job is started until completion of the job
- Last Source Scan Date: Date and timestamp of the last source scan
Migration runs are included in the Summary tab of the migration summary report. The following details are displayed for each of the phases covered in the migration process:
- Description
- Status of the migration phase
- Start time
- End time
- Duration
- Total number of errors
- Number of deleted files
- Migration size
- Total size
- Number of files migrated
- Total files selected
- Total folders selected
- Number of files sanitized
The export date and timestamp along with the name of the exporter is also included in the report.
Migration Exclusions
Migration summary report includes the details of the migration exclusions:
- Source: Source path for the file excluded for migration
- Destination: Destination path
- Size: Size of the file excluded
- Reason: Reason for exclusion, such as, ‘File is temporary’
- True Up Iteration: Count of the true-up iteration
Migration Errors
Migration summary report includes the details of the migration errors:
- Source: Source path for the erroneous file
- Destination: Destination path
- Size: Size of the erroneous file
- Error: Error encountered during the migration of the file
- True Up Iteration: Count of the true-up iteration
Migration Sanitization
The Migration Summary report also includes the details on the sanitization with source and destination name along with the true-up iteration.
