External Release Notes: Egnyte iOS Mobile App v. 8.33.2 (November 18, 2024)
New Features And Enhancements
This release includes several backend improvements to optimize link sharing in the app. Users will experience a smoother, more reliable link-sharing experience, with all current sharing options functioning seamlessly.
Following this update, we’ll begin the gradual rollout of our new link-sharing experience using the new UI as detailed in this article. Customers can look forward to this enhanced functionality in future releases.
Issues Addressed
Fix For 'Link Can’t Be Sent' Error
Resolved an issue where users encountered a 'Link can’t be sent' error when creating a share link in the Egnyte app. Now, default expiration settings set up for the domain apply correctly. Users can set expiration based on date or clicks, with a 12-month maximum for date selection. Additionally, users are restricted from selecting past dates to ensure proper link creation within the allowed parameters.
This fix will be included in the new link-sharing experience, which will roll out gradually over the next few weeks.
Limitations And Known Issues
Preview Limitation For Folder Links With 'Download' Disabled
Currently, the iOS app cannot preview files in folders shared via links where the Allow download option is disabled. Users can preview these files through the web UI instead. iOS support for these previews is anticipated in January 2025.
