Current State Of Egnyte For MacOS Sequoia

Updated: September 25th, 2024

MacOS Sequoia was released for all Mac users on September 17th, 2024.

Our tests on both the Desktop App for Mac and Desktop App Core for Mac have been completed. While the core functionalities are working as expected, some issues have been identified and are currently being addressed.

These issues do not significantly impact the overall performance of the app, but we recommend keeping an eye on this page for updates regarding fixes that will be delivered in future releases.

Known Issues For Desktop App Core

We have identified one major and a few minor issues, and we are working on resolving them. These issues include:

Major Issue

  • The listing loads indefinitely after adding a new drive: In certain cases, when adding a new drive, the file listing loads indefinitely until Finder is manually relaunched.

Minor Issues

  • Widget not shown if wallpaper is clicked to show desktop items: When an external screen is connected, clicking the wallpaper to reveal desktop items prevents the Egnyte widget from being displayed after clicking the Desktop App tray icon.
  • Duplicated ‘Cancel’ button when attempting to delete a locked file: Users may see two ‘Cancel’ buttons instead of one when trying to delete a locked file in Finder.
  • System alert shown upon installation and every App restart: A system prompt appears during installation and on every restart of the Desktop App. Granting Egnyte ‘Full Disk Access’ resolves some issues, but intermittent listing problems remain.
  • Prompts or windows are hidden behind DA widget: System prompts, such as ‘Your drive is connected’ or notifications for unsynced items, may be hidden behind the Egnyte widget.

Known Issues For Desktop App for Mac

  • Widget not shown if wallpaper is clicked to show desktop items: Similar to Desktop App Core, the Egnyte widget fails to display if the wallpaper is clicked to reveal desktop items while an external screen is connected.
  • Unzipped folder appears as empty: When compressing and unzipping a folder on the drive, the unzipped folder may appear empty.
  • Versions earlier than 3.14.17: Desktop App for Mac versions earlier than 3.14.17 are incompatible with macOS Sequoia and will not function.
