Updated: December 3rd, 2024
MacOS Sequoia was released for all Mac users on September 17th, 2024. We have completed fixes and extended testing for both the Desktop App Core and Desktop App for Mac. DA Core and Desktop App for Mac officially supports MacOS Sequoia. However, after upgrading to macOS Sequoia, users may still observe some behavior changes over time.
Known Issues For Desktop App Core
There is one unresolved issue due to OS limitation and a permanent behavior change related to macOS and Desktop App Core.
OS limitation
- Infinite Loading of File Listings After Adding a New Drive: In some cases, when a new drive is added, the file listing may load indefinitely until Finder is manually relaunched. This issue stems from an OS limitation beyond Egnyte’s control
Behavior change
- System Alert During Installation and on App Restart: A system prompt appears during installation and each time the Desktop App restarts. To resolve this, Egnyte requires Full Disk Access permissions.
Known Issues For Desktop App for Mac
- Widget not shown if wallpaper is clicked to show desktop items: Similar to Desktop App Core, the Egnyte widget fails to display if the wallpaper is clicked to reveal desktop items while an external screen is connected.
- Folder deletion proceeds despite locked files: When attempting to delete a folder that contains locked files (locked by another user), the folder is incorrectly removed both locally and in the cloud, despite an alert being displayed that the file is locked and cannot be deleted.
- Versions earlier than 3.14.17: Desktop App for Mac versions earlier than 3.14.17 are incompatible with macOS Sequoia and will not function.
