Overview
This article provides information for users who may encounter issues with the Desktop App Core that prevent the application from performing its normal functionalities, such as opening, syncing, deleting, and moving files. Each workaround can be performed depending on the pop-up message that appears when performing an action on Desktop App Core. It is recommended to still contact Egnyte Support when encountering any of these issues to assist in addressing them in a future version.
These restrictions may come up when content originating from the Desktop App is copied to a location outside of the Egnyte folders and the user attempts to open or edit the file. An example of this can be seen when an email sender attaches an Egnyte file from the Desktop App and the recipient tries to open or modify the file on the recipient's machine.
