This guide will walk you through how to set up SSO for Egnyte using Google Apps.

Configure Egnyte Settings

  1. Log into Egnyte through the Web UI.
  2. Navigate to Settings and go to the Configuration tab.
  3. Select Security & Authentication from the list on the left and scroll down to the Single Sign-on Authentication section of the page.

  4. Set the Single sign-on authentication provider to Google Apps and click Save.

Configure Google SSO for a Single User in Egnyte

  1. Log into Egnyte through the Web UI.
  2. Navigate to Settings and click on the Users & Groups tab.

  3. Hover over the user you would like to change the authentication provider for and click Details.

  4. Select Profile or click Edit user profile.
  5. Change the Authentication drop-down to SSO.

    Note: If the email address does not match their Google account address, this will also need to be updated or they will be unable to utilize SSO.
  6. Click Save.

 

Configure Google SSO for Multiple Users in Egnyte

  1. Log into Egnyte through the Web UI.
  2. Navigate to Settings and click on the Users & Groups tab.
  3. Click Export All Users from the top of the page and open the .csv file that's created.
    Note: This step can be skipped if you already have a valid .csv file for all of your users.
  4. Change the AuthType column to sso for each desired user and save the file.
    Note: If the email address does not match their Google account address, this will also need to be updated or they will be unable to utilize SSO.
  5. From the Users & Groups tab, click Import Users.
  6. Choose the .csv file you created and select the box for Allow updating of existing users.

  7. Click Import.

Users must manually refresh the page after configuring SSO details in Egnyte.
