Opening Microsoft 365 Files From Egnyte iOS Mobile App
Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) files can be opened for viewing only from the Egnyte iOS app in the following ways:
-
Direct Preview in Egnyte: Tap on the file in the listing view to open it in the Egnyte app’s built-in preview.

Open with Another App: From the file preview screen, tap the Share button and select an app (example: Microsoft 365) to open the document. This will allow viewing only, not editing.
Microsoft 365 documents can also be opened for editing and co-editing (provided that the user has an active Microsoft 365 license in place and the co-editing feature is enabled by Egnyte admin for the domain) in the following ways:
- By clicking on the 3-dot menu in the listing view and selecting the Co-edit in Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point option.
- By tapping on the Co-edit button on the document preview screen.
Selecting the Co-edit option redirects the user to the relevant Microsoft 365 App where the document can be edited.
- Once editing is complete, the Done button can be tapped to exit the editing mode.
- To return to Egnyte, the Back to Egnyte button should be selected.
