Everyone makes mistakes, which is why Egnyte provides the option to restore content from Trash before it's permanently removed. Trash is only stored for a period specified by the Admins, so be sure to restore items accidentally deleted as soon as you're aware of the error.
Admins can turn off this ability for Power Users, so please reach out to an Admin if you're unable to access the Trash folder.
To restore files or folders:
- Click the Trash icon on the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Select the folders or files that you would like to restore.
- Choose Restore from the menu.
- When the confirmation screen appears, click Restore.
Using filters for searching the trash
Use filters to search the trash:
Type - allows you to choose between either of the one file or folder or if both should be included.
Item name - allows you to type the name of the file/folder.
Original location - allows you to choose the location that the file/folder was deleted from.
Deleted by - allows you to narrow down the search to a user by typing (name, username or email ID) of a user.
Deleted date - allow you to choose between Today, Yesterday, last 7 days, lasts 30 days, or Custom (choose a date or custom duration).
Power Users can only view trash content they've deleted. Admins can view the trash content for the entire domain.
Admins who restore folders from the trash are given an option on whether to restore the original permissions of the folder or to use the permissions of the parent folder. When a Power User restores a folder, the original permissions are always restored.
