New Fixes Introduced in Desktop App for Windows v3.15.0 (Limited Availability)

CBFS Driver Upgrade

Upgraded CBFS Driver version from 2017 to 2020 to ensure improved stability and compatibility with the latest Windows environments.

Issues Addressed

Installation Compatibility Issues

Fixed the issue where the installation of Egnyte was causing disruptions in Windows subsystem for Linux Drive Maps.

PC Shutdown issues

Addressed the problem with Egnyte Connect PCs not being able to shutdown properly.

ZIP File Versioning

Resolved an issue related to ZIP file versioning that was affecting file operations.

Drive Status Display

Improved the display of drive status information, addressing multiple issues related to the drive status not being accurately reflected.

Third-Party Software Support

Implemented support for basic file operations on not listed files, allowing third-party software to access files on Egnyte Drive seamlessly.

Desktop App Navigation

Fixed the occurrence of Desktop App dropping drive letters.

Contact Support Form Enhancement

The “Contact Support” feature in the Desktop App now allows users to enter the “+” symbol for international numbers.

Permissions Issues with Newforma Application

Enhanced the code to ensure that Newforma application can write files on the Desktop App drive by handling permissions more efficiently.

Uppercase Letters in Filenames

Fixed an issue that caused uppercase letters in filenames being changed to lowercase, especially in PDF files.

Files Corruption Prevention

Implemented a new handling procedure to prevent file corruption by avoiding download retries and raising appropriate exceptions.

GIS Data and .GDB Files Error

Resolved a syncing issue for GIS data and *.gdb files.

Folder Expansion Issue

Improved the refreshing of Windows Explorer side panel, allowing random folders to be expanded and collapsed correctly.

Moving Connected Folders

Addressed issues with moving connected folders to a different location.

Duplicate Folder Syncing

Fixed the issue where turning on offline sync was pushing up duplicate folders to the cloud, ensuring proper cache management.

Adobe Applications Exporting

Resolved various issues with exporting to PNG/JPEG files in Adobe applications.

Autodesk Civil 3D 2020

Fixed the issue with inserting SID files in Autodesk Civil 3D 2020.

Known Issues and Limitations

  • Co-Editing is not supported with Smart Cache connection for versions of Smart Cache below 2.7.
  • If a user has an “ask” as a default co-editing setting, simultaneous opening of more than one MS Office document can result in an error.
  • When opening large Excel document in co-editing mode takes over 30 seconds, then the collaboration pop-up may appear for the second time.
