Audience
Any user of the Migration App.
Context
Previously, Migration Operators lacked the option to opt out of syncing deletions during True-Ups if Sync Deletes was already enabled. Howver, many customers preferred not to remove files from the destination during True-Ups, even when those files had been deleted from the source since the initial sync or earlier True-Ups.
To address this, an option to opt out of syncing deletions during True-Ups is now available. This allows users to modify their selection at any point before the job is executed. Additionally, users can choose to proceed with migration jobs, even if data deletions exceed the configured limit at the domain level, by unchecking the pause option.
- This feature is not enabled by default and is only available upon request.
- Sync deletes is no longer available under Advanced Options to avoid any inconsistencies for the users. It will be available under on-command job confirmation and in the scheduler options.
Users can configure Sync deletes from the command pop-up and the scheduler page.
The Sync deletes choices made by users on the scheduler page or under true-up options remain consistent across the platform. This ensures users don't have to repeatedly select the same options, improving overall consistency.
When Confluence Mode is enabled for a migration job, Sync Deletes is automatically set to No to prevent data from being deleted from the destination.
In the following scenario, Sync Deletes is set to No. Some files were deleted on the source and a True-Up was executed. On the Migration Details page, under True-Up data, hovering over the 'i' next to 'Files on Source Previously Migrated' displays a tooltip stating “This is a count of the files still existing on the source that were previously migrated. You may have migrated more files in previous commands, but this is the number still existing.”
