Storage Sync v 12.5 Release Date: Feb 17th, 2021
UI guardrails for supporting Read-only Domain Controller
We have added guardrails to the UI that prevent the system administrator from accidentally performing certain operations when the Storage Sync device is connected to a Read-only Domain Controller. These operations specifically include changing the device's hostname and trying to re-join the Active Directory. Both these operations resulted in the Storage Sync device being unable to re-join the Active Directory when it is connected to a Read-only Domain Controller. These new workflows also guide the system administrator to make those changes only when the device is connected to a Read-write Domain Controller.
Issues Addressed
- Fixed an issue where newly created folders on the Storage Sync device did not synchronize with the cloud under specific scenarios
- Addressed an issue where Storage Sync services did not start up after the upgrade
