Authentication issues with DuoSecurity on iOS

When using Egnyte for iOS on an iPhone/iPad, the verification screen for 2FA with Duo pops-up and then goes away before allowing you to do anything.

This issue is also seen in when using the Safari browser on an iPad where the verification screen stays blank.

You may also see these issues post authentication, the Egnyte app may hang at "Authorizing with your login provider" and never progresses.

iOS has configurable content restrictions that can potentially prevent the Duo Prompt from displaying correctly and affect the DuoPush setup. Users will need to change the settings on their iPhone and iPad devices.

iOS 12

Navigate to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Content Restrictions > Web Content.

To completely disable content restrictions, un-check Limit Adult Websites.

If you do not want to fully disable content restrictions, you can add duosecurity.com to the whitelist within the Content Restrictions page on the iOS device. This will allow the Duo Prompt to display, even if content restrictions are enabled.

Note that if you are opening Screen Time for the first time and haven't set up the feature, you will be prompted to set up the phone either for yourself or a child and will have the option to set a passcode.

iOS 11 and older

This can be found on the device by going to Settings > General > Restrictions > Websites.

To completely disable content restrictions, un-check Limit Adult Content.
