Storage Connect will reach end of life on March 31st, 2019.
What does End of Life mean?
When a product reaches end of life, Egnyte will no longer support the back-end infrastructure needed for the product to work as expected and may even take measures to actively prevent the product from communicating with our service.
What to do if you are using Storage Connect?
If you were using Storage Connect to access locally stored data through Egnyte, you'll have two options moving forward:
- Switch to a Hybrid Cloud Deployment. For most people, this means using Storage Sync. Storage Sync enables files housed on any local storage device (NAS, SAN, or direct-attached) to be synced with the Egnyte Cloud, so there is a local copy and a cloud copy. This will allow you to access all your files in one central location and utilize all of the features Egnyte has to offer.
We also have a next-generation hybrid solution, called Turbo, that we're rolling out to select customers. Turbo provides much of what Storage Sync offers plus some exciting new user and administrative capabilities.
- Migrate all of your data to the cloud and use the Egnyte Web UI to access and share your content.
Note: Both options require a copy of the data to be stored in the Cloud.
