Before Restarting Services
The Storage Sync UI may occasionally appear to be inactive (i.e. when the status shows "Fetching cloud snapshot"). Storage Sync is actually still syncing but the status update to the UI may be delayed. In these scenario please wait for the sync to finish. Restarting at this point will delay sync completion.
This issue will be addressed in an upcoming release.
From the ReadyNAS interface
1. Navigate to the admin console of your ReadyNAS 6 appliance. Click on the Apps tab.
2. Find Egnyte Storage Sync for NETGEAR and toggle the switch to the "OFF" position.
3. IMPORTANT - DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP: Wait 15 mins for the services to stop and perform the necessary integrity checks. Toggling the switch to "ON" quickly will cause Storage Sync services to not start properly. The NETGEAR ReadyNAS interface may not give you a feedback during this time.
4. Toggle the switch to the "ON" position. This re-enables the Storage Sync services and can take up to 15 mins.
From the ReadyNAS terminal
SSH into the box and run the following commands:
CD into the application directory
To stop the services
systemctl stop egnyte
To start services
systemctl start egnyte
Alternatively, you can use
/apps/elc/stop_services.sh OR start_services.sh
On Virtual appliance -
The following SSH commands will allow the user to stop and start the Egnyte service without having to power off the Virtual Appliance.
