Egnyte Help Desk

Which Egnyte desktop client should I use?

Egnyte offers several means for you to access the files you store in the cloud from your desktop: Egnyte Drive, Desktop Sync and Web Edit. These products work in different ways and each has distinct advantages.

Egnyte Drive

When should I  use it?

  • If you want to edit files in the Cloud without maintaining any local copy
  • If your computer has limited storage space, for example if you have a small SSD drive

Advantages

  • Safeguards against computer loss since files are not persisted locally.
  • Edits are saved back to the cloud immediately.
  • Files are automatically locked while editing to prevent version conflicts.
