We heard from our users that they wanted to preview a file without having to download it. A new setting should enable this for a greater user experience.
With this weekend's release, account administrators can now choose whether files are downloaded or previewed when you click a file name in the Web UI.
Admins can find this option in the Settings section under Configuration: General.
Edit files directly from preview
When previewing a file, you will now see an "Edit" option; clicking this will close preview and open the file in its native application. Note that users will only see this option if WebEdit is enabled for your account.
This should allow for faster editing and collaboration as part of our commitment to keep improving usability.
Support for Google Apps SSO
If your account has External Authentication enabled, you can now choose to authenticate your users using Google Apps SSO. External authentication is included in our Administrative package and covers features like AD/LDAP integration and Single Sign-on Authentication.
Contact your Egnyte account manager if you'd like to discuss pricing for the administrative package.
File rename enhancements
When renaming a file, only its name — and not the extension — will be selected.
This should make it easier to rename the file without accidentally removing its extension.
Download more with folder links
You can now download an aggregate of files up to 10 GB in size at once from a folder link. While this was already possible when browsing normally in the new look of our Web UI, multi-file downloads from folder links were previously limited to 1 GB. Enjoy!
