Updated Co-Editing for Microsoft Office Files on iOS

Egnyte iOS Mobile App v. 8.17 | Release Date: April 19, 2023

Updated Co-Editing for Microsoft Office Files

This release includes an updated version of co-editing for Microsoft Office Files. Users for whom this feature is turned on (as per the roll out plan) can open Microsoft Office files and start or join co-editing of them via Microsoft apps that support particular file types, e.g. Word for documents, Excel for spreadsheets, PowerPoint for presentations, or the Microsoft 365 app for all the Office file types. To be able to use co-editing, it is required that the users are logged in the corresponding Microsoft app and that they have a valid license to use it. If a user does not have a corresponding Microsoft app on the device and tries to open a file to edit and co-edit it, he will be prompted to visit the App Store and download one. It’s important to note that Microsoft Office files are available for editing and co-editing unless they are locked by another user.

New User Onboarding Tool

As part of our ongoing efforts to keep the users informed about the latest developments, we have integrated our app with a tool that allows us to present onboarding guides to the app users. The guides will be designed to help users get started quickly and to be informed about new features and enhancements in the app.

Downloads
