Support for AutoCAD (DWG) File Preview
Egnyte Customers whose pricing plan includes the AEC Package will now have the possibility to preview AutoCAD DWG files also in the Android mobile app (for the same feature announcement for the iOS app, please go to this link). The preview is generated automatically when the file name is tapped on in the listing view. Once the file is opened, the user can select the hand control to move the object on the screen with a finger and the orbit control to turn the object around. Pinching can be used to zoom in and out the object on the screen.
Users who want to preview DWG files need to download a special plugin which enables it and they will be prompted to do so (1) when the app is updated to version 8.34, (2) when the user tries to preview a DWG file and the plugin wasn’t uploaded before.
How to Upgrade
Download the latest version of the Egnyte Android App, v. 8.34 from the Google Play Store, make sure the AEC Package is turned on for your domain, and download the AutoCAD file preview plug-in when prompted.
